Structural Steel EstimatorLocation: LondonSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceJob Type: Full-time, PermanentSector: Structural SteelAre you an experienced Structural Steel Estimator looking for your next opportunity in London?This is an excellent opportunity to join an established structural steel business working on a range of projects, where you will play a key role in pricing and securing new work.The role would suit an Estimator who understands structural steel from a commercial and technical perspective and is confident taking an enquiry from the initial tender stage through to final submission.The RoleAs a Structural Steel Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, commercially competitive estimates for structural steel projects.You will work closely with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure tenders are accurately priced, commercially viable and submitted within the required deadlines.Your responsibilities will include:Reviewing incoming tender enquiries and project requirementsAnalysing structural drawings, specifications and scopes of workPreparing detailed estimates and quotationsCalculating quantities for structural steelworkPricing materials, fabrication, labour and installationObtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotationsIdentifying exclusions, assumptions and potential project risksLiaising with clients and contractors to clarify tender requirementsWorking closely with engineering, project management, procurement and commercial teamsEnsuring tenders are accurate and submitted within deadlinesSupporting the business in securing profitable structural steel projectsMaintaining accurate estimating recordsSupporting post-tender reviews and lessons learnedWhat They're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have previous experience within structural steel estimating and a strong understanding of how steelwork projects are fabricated, supplied and erected.You'll ideally have:Previous structural steel estimating experienceExperience pricing fabricated and erected steelworkThe ability to read and interpret structural drawingsA strong understanding of fabrication processes and steelwork quantitiesExperience preparing tenders from initial enquiry through to submissionGood commercial awareness and numerical abilityThe ability to identify project risks, exclusions and potential additional costsExperience dealing with suppliers, subcontractors and clientsStrong attention to detailThe ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines at the same timeWhy Consider the Role?This is a great opportunity for an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join a business where your estimating experience will have a direct impact on the projects the company secures.You'll have the opportunity to work on a varied range of structural steel projects, build strong relationships with clients and suppliers, and play an important role in the continued growth of the business.If you're an experienced Structural Steel Estimator based in or around London and you're open to hearing about a new opportunity, apply today for more information.
