In this role you will plan, build, and execute verification for AMD’s micoprocessor IP to minimize bugs in the final design. You’ll work with architects, hardware, firmware, and software teams across sites to verify new features and ensure robust performance. You’ll develop test plans, automated regressions, and interfaces with formal verification to drive high-quality silicon. This position sits at the core of delivering reliable, high-speed processor designs in a collaborative, hybrid environment. You’ll join a culture that values innovation, execution excellence, and cross-functional teamwork to shape future AI and compute systems.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand new features to be verified
Create test plan documentation considering cross-feature interactions, hardware, firmware, and software driver use cases
Estimate effort for new feature tests and test environment changes
Develop directed and random verification tests
Debug test failures with RTL and firmware teams to fix defects and test issues
Review functional and code coverage metrics and refine tests to meet coverage requirements
Build automated regression infrastructure for functional verification of high-speed microprocessor designs
Develop interface assertions and coordinate with the formal verification team
Key requirements
3+ years of Design Verification experience
Proficient in IP level ASIC verification
Proficient in debugging firmware and RTL code using simulation tools
Proficient in C++ testbenches and working in Linux and Windows
Experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, C, and C++
CPU pipeline knowledge
Automating workflows in a distributed compute environment
Exposure to simulation profiles, efficiency improvements, acceleration, HLS tools/process
Strong C++ background on Linux with Windows exposure
Scripting: Perl, Ruby, Makefile, shell preferred
Desirable memory subsystem or CPU unit verification experience
