Senior Anaplan Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will partner with Product Managers and finance stakeholders to shape the planning, forecasting, and profitability roadmap within Anaplan. You’ll translate business needs into technical designs, drive Anaplan enhancements, and ensure smooth end-to-end cycles while acting as a trusted finance technology liaison. You’ll collaborate across Agile teams and FP&A to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions and enable strong decision-making. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at the intersection of finance and technology with a meaningful impact on planning accuracy and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define planning, forecasting, and profitability roadmap with Product Manager and stakeholders
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and solution specifications
• Manage enhancements: gather requirements, design changes, implement, and promote live in coordination with the product owner and developers
• Collaborate with FP&A and Business Finance to address IT challenges
• Continuously improve the Anaplan system by understanding user activities and issues
• Liaise with wider technology teams on dependencies and issue resolution
• Work with product manager, finance system analysts, and solution architects on technology initiatives
• Ensure Anaplan is fit for purpose and planning/forecasting cycles run without issues
• Follow established change framework for prioritization and testing
• Be a trusted business partner and main contact for Anaplan queries
• Provide end-user support and training as needed
• Operate in Agile environment using Jira and Confluence
• Carry out additional duties as assigned

Key requirements

• Thorough knowledge of planning and forecasting processes or profitability solutions
• Strong experience in Finance Technology roles
• Strong experience with Anaplan including development experience
• Part-qualified accountant
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to take responsibility for project issues and delivery
• Agile methodologies experience is favorable
