Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer

Overview

In this role you will maintain and repair air conditioning systems across multiple sites, ensuring F-gas compliance and safety standards. You will diagnose faults, test for leaks, and document maintenance activities while supporting clients and junior engineers. You will work within a health and safety focused environment and travel between Chester, Manchester, and Liverpool. This is a hands-on senior technician role that combines technical expertise with strong customer service and teamwork, contributing to high standards of service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance, repairs and inspections of air conditioning systems across several sites
• Ensure compliance with F-gas regulations and relevant standards
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults
• Carry out refrigerant leak testing and recovery
• Complete maintenance and compliance documentation
• Adhere to health and safety procedures
• Liaise with clients, customers and contractors
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support the wider team

Key requirements

• Level 3 Diploma in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems
• NVQ certifications in refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump systems
• F-gas Category 1 certification
• Minimum five years post-qualification experience
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
• Clear communication skills
• Ability to assess and report on equipment condition
