Overview

As Senior Engineering Manager for Global Billing, Payments & API, you will lead two domains within GBPA to shape the core billing platform used by major energy retailers. You will own both technical and product strategy across domains, diagnose systemic issues, and align cross-functional partners to a coherent roadmap. You’ll manage two teams, drive high-integrity data practices, and influence the organization beyond your scope. This role offers impact at scale as Kaluza consolidates to a global, configurable edge model.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering across two GBPA domains on complex, cross-squad initiatives
• Own technical and product strategy across both domains
• Diagnose systemic and organizational issues with deep domain knowledge
• Manage cross-functional stakeholders to align roadmap and trade-offs
• Full people-leader ownership for both teams (goal-setting, performance, hiring)
• Operate in a high-integrity data domain (billing/payments) emphasizing reliability and reconciliation

Key requirements

• Proven track record leading engineering teams on multi-domain, cross-squad initiatives
• Experience owning tech and product strategy across multiple domains or services
• Ability to diagnose systemic/organizational issues with deep domain knowledge
• Strong cross-functional stakeholder management with Product, Delivery, and adjacent teams
• People-leadership experience including hiring, performance and pay conversations
• Comfort operating in data-intensive billing/payments contexts where data quality matters
• Demonstrable experience applying AI/LLMs to deliver customer impact
• Customer-centric mindset and working-backwards approach
• Ability to influence beyond direct scope to improve product quality and team experience
