Overview

In this role you will shape hardware engineering at Alstom, delivering robust electronic designs for diverse systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers. You’ll drive quality, safety, and cost efficiency while applying best-practice design methods and continuous improvement. You’ll contribute to introducing new hardware concepts from planning through implementation and ensure alignment with site objectives. Responsibilities

Provide hardware engineering support for a range of electronics systems ensuring specifications and quality standards are met
Coordinate with production, project teams and external customers to align activities with objectives and budget
Lead or assist technical investigations into hardware challenges and deliver timely solutions
Recommend specification and process changes to improve reliability and performance
Represent the Engineering team in meetings to resolve engineering challenges
Support the introduction of new hardware designs from planning to full implementation
Ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety Regulations and Alstom Electronics quality standards
Achieve KPI targets for Right First Time, efficiency, cost and service

Key requirements

Electronics analogue & digital design knowledge
Extensive hardware design experience in a relevant electronics business
Education in Electronics Engineering to Degree level or equivalent
Strong communication, self-motivation, teamwork and innovation in delivering high standards
Commitment to health & safety, time management, problem solving and continuous improvement
Customer-focused mindset
