Senior Manager, Mobile Engineering

Overview

In this role, you lead Expedia’s native mobile platforms (iOS and Android) to deliver reliable, scalable experiences that delight travelers. You’ll shape mobile architecture and release practices while building a high-performing, distributed engineering organization. You’ll partner with Product, Design, and Security to align roadmaps with business outcomes and drive observability, AI-enabled development, and operational excellence. This is an opportunity to influence the mobile ecosystem at a global scale and contribute to fast, safe product delivery. You will guide teams to improve performance, quality, and customer satisfaction while mentoring engineers and shaping technical strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead mobile engineering teams delivering native apps and shared platform capabilities across product domains
• Set technical direction for mobile architecture including system design, API design, data modeling, and integration patterns for iOS and Android
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering organization through hiring, performance management, and career development
• Partner with cross-functional teams to shape roadmaps, manage dependencies, and deliver measurable outcomes
• Establish release and operational practices across App Store and Google Play, enhancing quality, observability, and reliability
• Safely integrate AI/ML-enabled solutions to improve engineering and product outcomes

Key requirements

• 8+ years of relevant professional experience with 3+ years in people management
• Experience owning outcomes across multiple services or a substantial mobile technology domain (architecture, roadmap, reliability, maintenance)
• Strong knowledge of mobile software development for iOS, Android, and shared mobile capabilities (design, data modeling, testing, deployment, production operations)
• Experience developing technical strategy, managing capacity and staffing, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI concepts to mobile products or platforms
