Senior FX Prime Brokerage and AI Engineer

Overview

In this role you help shape the FX Prime Brokerage technology stack and drive next‑generation solutions. You will implement cloud‑native, low‑latency services that scale across FX and Equities, collaborating with traders, quants and product teams. You’ll own architecture design, development and the end‑to‑end lifecycle, while mentoring juniors and promoting best practices. This is a chance to apply AI tooling and modern software practices to transform a flagship trading business.

Responsibilities

• Hands‑on development of Prime Brokerage solutions across FX and Equities using cloud‑native tech and CI/CD
• Design and develop system architecture and collaborate with end‑users to improve deliverables
• Ensure compliance with Citi policies and maintain documentation for filings
• Collaborate with FX Prime Brokerage trading, quants and product teams to translate needs into data‑driven solutions
• Design, develop and test new features; continuously improve the SDLC and product quality
• Provide 3rd line production support and participate in 24h on‑call rotations
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices and consistency across teams

Key requirements

• Master’s degree or above in a STEM discipline
• Proven software engineering experience with strong understanding of computer systems
• Hands on experience in Java and Spring; knowledge of ultra‑low‑latency development
• FX experience preferred
• Experience with AI coding tools (DevIn, Claude code, Codex) and production grade apps
• Proven track record building new systems or replacing legacy ones
• Strong SQL/Databases skills
• Messaging tech experience (Kafka, Solace, MQ)
• Experience with caching technologies and systems troubleshooting
• Strong communication skills across levels and teams
• Awareness of industry trends and new technologies
