Engineering Manager - Communications Platform

Overview

As Engineering Manager for the Communications Platform, you lead a team building high-throughput, mission-critical communication channels (Email, SMS, Whatsapp, etc.) and scalable platform services. You own client outcomes end-to-end, shaping APIs, data, and experiences with autonomy. You’ll balance hands-on leadership with people and systems growth, emphasizing platform-first design and responsible AI adoption. This role combines technical direction with cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable, scalable communications at scale.

Responsibilities

• Grow the Team: coach engineers with clear growth paths and performance management
• Delivery Ownership: translate business outcomes into roadmaps and deliver reliably
• Technical Leadership: guide architecture and design reviews for high-scale, event-driven systems on AWS and BigQuery
• Cross-Functional Partnership: collaborate with Product, Design and Business Domains
• Operational Health: ensure production-grade stability, on-call balance, testing, CI/CD, observability
• Responsible AI Adoption: integrate AI tools safely while owning shipped code

Key requirements

• Proven experience managing software engineering teams with mentorship and high delivery standards
• Experience in fintech or financial services
• Experience in multi-channel, multi-product environments
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and agile processes
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
