Senior Clinical Negligence Lawyer (4+ PQE)

Overview

As a Senior Clinical Negligence Lawyer in our Manchester team, you will manage high-quality clinical negligence matters from intake to settlement. You will handle multi-track cases, including brain, spinal, and birth injury claims, while coordinating with counsel and experts. You will lead strategy for complex litigation, mentor junior lawyers, and drive cases through conferences, JSMs, ADR, and trials. You’ll work in a hybrid setup to deliver high-value claimant matters with close collaboration across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-quality clinical negligence cases from initial interview to settlement
• Handle multi-track cases including misdiagnoses, brain injury, spinal injury, and birth injury
• Gather and review evidence
• Instruct and liaise with counsel
• Participate in conferences with counsel and expert witnesses
• Progress cases through JSMs/ADR and to trial (including split trials)
• Prepare profit cost forecasts and coordinate with costs team to ensure recovery

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with 4+ years post-qualification clinical negligence experience
• Experience handling a high-value claimant clinical negligence caseload
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• Ability to lead on strategy for complex litigation and mentor juniors
• Excellent advocacy and negotiation skills with JSMs and ADR
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
