Overview

As Lead QA Engineer, you will shape the automated testing strategy and guide a QA team to deliver high‑quality software. You’ll design and maintain test automation for services and UI, leveraging Selenium and BDD with Cucumber, across Java/Python test suites in a CI/CD setup. You’ll collaborate with developers, product, and BAs to define robust test solutions and improve quality processes. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast‑growing fintech, offering impact through scalable QA architecture and cross‑functional influence.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain automated tests for Services & UI using Selenium
Write automated tests with a BDD framework (Cucumber)
Develop test solutions in Java and/or Python
Work within CI/CD pipelines
Lead a team of mid and senior QA engineers
Design and implement QA automation architecture and best practices
Collaborate with developers, product teams and BAs to define test solutions
Define and implement test automation processes and best practices
Ensure defects are raised in Jira and manage defects per process
Maintain automated functional and regression tests aligned to scripting standards
Apply software development lifecycle and testing process knowledge

Key requirements

Experience with API testing frameworks such as REST Assured
Proficient in Java and/or Python
Experience using Cucumber and Gherkin
Experience with CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab Pipelines)
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to mentor and guide teammates
Enthusiasm for software test development and emerging testing tools/methodologies
