Python Engineer

Overview

In this Python Engineer role, you will work on the Trading Technology desk of a global High Frequency Trading firm, building tools and systems that support automated trading and ETF analysis. You’ll collaborate directly with traders to develop data-driven insights, pricing, and risk tools, while scaling high-performance Python-based solutions. The position blends software development with quantitative analysis in a fast, open culture. This is a technically demanding opportunity at the bleeding edge of market tech, with strong impact on trading performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop tools to analyze data patterns and support portfolio construction and risk for ETFs
• Price and break down ETF instruments and contribute to market-making workflows
• Build trading systems, rapid application development, and trading algorithms
• Provide financial and operational support on the trading desk working closely with traders
• Learn and work with fixed-income ETFs and market-making processes across multiple exchanges

Key requirements

• Python programming
• Proficient with libraries for data processing (sklearn, NumPy, pandas)
• Web development experience (Nginx, Flask, JavaScript)
• PostgreSQL
• Linux proficiency
• Interest in data science
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• 2:1 STEM Degree from a Redbrick
