Responsibilities

• Produce and check engineering deliverables (reports, presentations, design calculations, drawings) for tunnels and below-ground works
• Collaborate within a dynamic tunnelling/geotechnical team on diverse projects from feasibility to construction
• Manage project work and contribute to resource planning
• Mentor and develop staff within the team
• Support project delivery including client liaison, contractors, sub-consultants and stakeholders
• Participate in business development and technical proposal preparation

Key requirements

• Technical expertise in civil/structural and geotechnical engineering applied to tunnelling schemes
• Experience delivering tunnelling/underground projects with multidisciplinary input
• Degree in Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
• Chartered or near-chartered status or equivalent registration
• Experience with Eurocodes and relevant design standards
• Experience leading/delivering short to medium-term projects from inception to construction
• Excellent report-writing skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with tunnelling/geotechnical software
