In Bristol, an established national law firm seeks a Pensions Associate to handle a broad pensions caseload for private and public sector clients. You’ll work within the highly respected Pensions team, engaging in both contentious and non-contentious matters from day one. Your role blends technical pension advisory with governance and transactional work, contributing to business development and client relationships. Responsibilities

• Advise employers, trustees and public bodies on pensions matters
• Lead risk reduction and transfer exercises (buy-ins, buyouts, alternative funding)
• Manage PPF assessment periods, scheme rescues and insolvencies
• Handle LGPS matters across England and Wales
• Support corporate transactions, mergers, restructurings and wind ups
• Contribute to complex pensions litigation (including professional negligence and Part 8)
• Support trustee operations and governance matters
• Build client relationships and contribute to business development
• Collaborate within a diverse, nationally integrated team

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor
• Meaningful hands-on experience in non-contentious pensions work
• Strong technical knowledge across the listed areas
• Excellent communication and client handling skills
• Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused mindset
