BI Engineer

Overview

As a highly technical BI Engineer, you will anchor our BI function by architecting robust data solutions, automating data ingestion and governance, and delivering insightful dashboards. You’ll act as a strategic partner, translating complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders up to the C-suite. Your work spans data lifecycle understanding, data quality, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role offers visibility across products and business outcomes, with opportunities to mentor the BI team and shape data strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain a robust data warehouse
• Oversee ingestion of varied and complex datasets at scale
• Collaborate on data warehouse schema design and optimization
• Architect and maintain dashboards and visualisations for stakeholders
• Champion data quality and automate data pipelines for reliability
• Drive data governance and best-in-class data management practices
• Partner with the business to promote data-driven decisions
• Mentor and upskill BI Analysts in technical best practices

Key requirements

• Expert SQL proficiency (writing, optimizing, troubleshooting)
• Strong Python (or similar) for data manipulation and automation
• Deep knowledge of data warehousing design principles
• Extensive experience with BI tools (Tableau or similar)
• Version control experience (Git)
• Excellent communication to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical leadership
