Senior Software Engineer - AI Products (SVP)

Overview

In this role you will design and deliver scalable, production-grade AI-powered software within Citi’s Enterprise AI Products team. You’ll tackle novel, regulated AI challenges such as document extraction, classification, and workflow optimization, turning ambiguous problems into dependable services. You’ll collaborate with Risk and AI platform teams to align with business strategy while mentoring others and shaping a clear technical roadmap. You’ll work at the frontier of Generative AI, balancing model performance with explainability and auditability in a global banking environment. This is a high-impact, delivery-focused opportunity to help redefine finance with safe, scalable AI at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-quality, scalable software
• Lead and own end-to-end technical components aligned with business objectives
• Collaborate with Risk and AI platform teams to evolve Citi technology and procedures
• Partner with senior stakeholders to shape vision and technical roadmap
• Provide mentorship and elevate team capability
• Maintain strong software quality through design reviews and testing culture

Key requirements

• Significant experience as a senior developer or tech lead
• Proven ability to craft prompts for Generative AI models with rigor
• Experience building production systems for document/data extraction, NLP classification, MT, fraud or workflow automation
• Experience evaluating AI performance; exposure to Mlflow and experiment design
• Strong background in functional programming, design, and architecture
• Proficiency in Python; exposure to Postgres/Oracle and Kubernetes (OpenShift) is valuable
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, uDeploy, Tekton, Harness)
• Exposure to Agentic AI, specifically ADK
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and troubleshooting in distributed systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; adaptable to changing priorities
