Overview

In this role, you will support delivery across water and infrastructure projects for a well-established civil contractor. You will work within a project team to ensure works are set out accurately, safely, and in line with design requirements, contributing to a strong project pipeline. You will engage in planning, documentation, and technical issue resolution to keep schemes on track. The position offers long-term career development within a stable, framework-led environment focused on quality and safety. This is an opportunity to shape on-site execution across regional water/infrastructure programmes.

Responsibilities

Setting out works in accordance with contract drawings and survey control
Carrying out regular checks for accuracy and compliance
Producing site documentation (ITPs, task briefings, site diaries, allocation sheets)
Supporting planning with short-term programmes and 2-week lookaheads
Resolving technical queries and site-based issues
Coordinating with procurement to ensure resources and materials are available
Promoting health, safety, environmental compliance and quality
Identifying opportunities for value engineering and continuous improvement

Key requirements

Experience setting out on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Good understanding of construction methods, health & safety and industry standards
Experience using total stations or similar surveying equipment
Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering
Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
CSCS card and relevant site certifications (First Aid, IOSH/NEBOSH)
Desirable: experience in water sector or utilities frameworks
Desirable: AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency
Desirable: Temporary works knowledge
