Quantity Surveyor (Award Winning Main Contractor) | Permanent | Oxford

Overview

In this role you will support a regional Oxford-based main contractor to deliver high-quality Design & Build (D&B) projects and refurbishment schemes. You will manage commercial tasks on large projects autonomously, contributing from inception through to completion and ensuring financial control and value delivery. The position spans Education, Healthcare, Commercial, and other sectors, offering exposure to complex, multi-site assignments. This is a chance to shape project outcomes within a long-standing contractor known for quality and strong client partnerships.

Pay / Benefits

• salary £55,000–£65,000 + package

Responsibilities

• Manage costs and commercial performance on large projects (~£10m) from inception to completion
• Procure and manage subcontractor packages and day-to-day commercial activities
• Handle variations, valuations, cost reporting, and final accounts
• Maintain cost control, risk management, and financial forecasting for projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project delivery and client satisfaction

Key requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with a reputable main contractor
• Experience on Design & Build (D&B) projects
• Experience in both new build and refurbishment
• Project delivery experience in Education, Healthcare, and Commercial sectors
• Full UK Driving Licence and daily commute to Oxford
