Survey Engineer (OMW)

Overview

In this role you support offshore survey and geospatial operations to enable safe, accurate data collection. You work within multidisciplinary teams to operate, calibrate, and configure survey systems and navigation tools on project sites. You will train colleagues, ensure safety procedures, and produce survey reports that inform project decisions. This position offers hands-on technical work with leading ROV and hydrographic equipment and a strong emphasis on safety and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist colleagues in performing tasks following safe work procedures
• Conduct daily Job Safety Analysis and safety pre-tower meetings
• Train to meet Oceaneering or client requirements
• Execute job tasks as directed by Client/Project/Survey Manager
• Ensure safety rules are followed and report unsafe conditions
• Calibrate survey sensors (heading, attitude, bathymetry)
• Configure navigation software for correct projection/datum
• Run online survey/inspection spreads
• Create and configure online navigation showing vessels, ROVs, and maps
• Fault finding for survey systems
• Configure logging of project data
• Prepare survey reports
• Care for and safety of company equipment
• Train fellow field personnel

Key requirements

• offshore marine construction experience
• familiar with DGPS (C-Nav, Hemisphere)
• experience with survey software (Eiva, 4D Nav)
• knowledge of environmental effects on survey systems and data
• installation and configuration of technical software
• understanding calibration requirements for survey sensors
• data management requirements
• ability to meet reporting requirements for current projects
• proficiency with Microsoft Packages
• good knowledge of IT systems related to online navigation spreads
