Overview

As Aircraft Engineering Supervisor, you lead Merlin aircraft maintenance activities at RNAS Culdrose, supporting IMOS and AESAS contracts. You ensure airworthiness and safe operations through hands-on leadership and governance in a regulated environment. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to sustain aircraft availability and compliance, shaping maintenance outcomes at a premier naval air station. This role offers hands-on impact in a Defence context with strong training and progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

Supervise Merlin-specific maintenance and servicing activities across AESAS and IMOS contracts
Ensure compliance with airworthiness standards and naval publications
Coordinate on/off-aircraft support and equipment servicing
Uphold health, safety and COSHH practices; enforce tool control and quality protocols
Maintain Engineering and Asset Management systems records and performance data
Support Maintenance Human Factors training and competency development
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet operational deliverables

Key requirements

Minimum 6 years in an airworthiness environment
Merlin aircraft experience with at least 2 years hands-on
Certificate of Competency for Supervisory level (or ability to obtain)
Knowledge of Merlin Aircraft Engineering and Systems; Servicing and support equipment
Experience with Naval Air Publications and CIETP
Understanding of COSHH, safety and quality practices
Experience with Engineering and Asset Management Systems
Completion or ability to complete Maintenance Human Factors course
