Senior Civil Engineer - Water

Overview

In this role you will contribute to Scotland’s water and wastewater initiatives within AECOM’s Water Team. You will drive design excellence, collaborate with project managers, and uphold quality and safety standards on large-scale programmes like SR27 for Scottish Water. You’ll work in a multidisciplinary environment, supporting delivery through effective communication and risk-aware planning. Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality design work meeting client requirements and industry standards; take personal and team accountability
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and cost-effective execution and monitor programme performance
• Ensure work quality through thorough QA checks and provide feedback to junior staff where needed
• Own project elements as part of a collaborative team and communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders
• Develop Design Risk Assessments and Project SHE Plans to integrate safety and environmental considerations across project phases

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Actively working towards professional accreditation
• Experience in the water or wastewater industry
