Overview

As Structural Team Lead, you will guide and grow our Structural Engineering group within the water sector. You’ll lead cross-site collaboration, drive technically excellent designs, and manage delivery to time, budget, and quality. You’ll mentor staff, engage clients, and apply hands-on project delivery using state-of-the-art techniques. Your leadership will shape the team’s direction while traveling to coordinate with offices across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, line management and team development
• Deliver structural design expertise to meet project needs using modern methods
• Drive integrated work with Pune for collaboration
• Ensure projects meet outputs on time, within budget, and to quality
• Influence others through technical knowledge and communication
• Plan and coordinate resources with group managers
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of survey, design, drafting, and contract management standards
• Liaise with clients to build trust in the Structural Group
• Offer technical training and mentoring to staff
• Review team work and prioritise important tasks
• Support and mentor team members across the region
• Build relationships with new clients and stakeholders
• Adopt a hands-on approach to project delivery

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Chartered member of a relevant institution (e.g., IStructE, ICE)
• Hands-on experience in structural engineering, especially in water engineering
• Experience managing and mentoring junior staff
• Experience overseeing project budgets and timelines
• Able to prepare and review technical documents, reports and proposals
