Sr Associate / Legal Director - Succession & Tax - Bath - 5+

Overview

In this role, you will lead private-client work in a Bath-based top-tier law firm, guiding tax and estate planning for high-net-worth clients while mentoring a junior team. You’ll manage probate, trusts work, and powers of attorney, contributing to growth through business development. Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload across private client matters
• Provide tax and estate planning advice for high net worth clients
• Advise farmers and business owners on succession planning
• Oversee complex probate and estate administration
• Advise on creation, restructuring and winding up of trusts
• Provide guidance on Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
• Supervise junior staff and support their development
• Drive business development and contribute to firm growth strategy

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX with higher rights in private client work
• Tax and estate planning expertise across a broad client base
• Experience managing complex probate and estate administration
• Knowledge of trust creation, restructuring and winding up
• Expertise in Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
• Succession planning experience with farmers and business owners (desirable)
• Leadership skills to supervise and nurture junior staff
• Strong business development skills and ability to generate referrals
• Exemplary client service and relationship-building abilities
• STEP Membership or progress towards it
