Sr Associate / Legal Director - Succession & Tax - Swindon - 6+

Overview

In this role, you will lead private client work in a respected Swindon firm and drive succession and tax advice for high net worth clients. You will supervise a team, contribute to business development, and shape the growth of the Succession & Tax practice. The position combines complex tax planning, estate administration, and trust work with leadership responsibilities. This is a pathway to partnership within a collaborative, growth‑minded firm. You will operate across the Thames Valley and Hampshire to strengthen client relationships and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload across tax planning, probate, and trusts
• Provide tax and estate planning advice to high net worth clients
• Advise farmers and business owners on succession planning
• Oversee complex probate and estate administration
• Assist in creation, restructuring and winding up of trusts
• Handle Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
• Support and supervise junior staff
• Drive business development and contribute to growth strategy

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX with higher rights
• Significant private client experience including tax and estate planning
• Experience managing complex probate and estate administration
• Knowledge of trust creation, restructuring and winding up
• Expertise in Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
• Succession planning experience with farmers and business owners (desirable)
• Leadership skills to supervise juniors
• Strong business development and client service skills
• STEP Membership or progress towards it
