Assembly Team Leader

Were recruiting for an experienced Assembly Team Leader to join a well-established and growing engineering and manufacturing business in Nottingham.

This is a hands-on Team Leader position, ideal for someone who enjoys being involved on the shop floor while also taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a small assembly team.

Youll work alongside the team, helping organise workloads, maintaining quality standards and making sure production targets are achieved safely and on time.

What youll be doing:

• Leading and supporting the Assembly team on shift
• Allocating daily workloads and monitoring progress
• Working hands-on with the team to assemble fabricated metal components
• Using a range of hand and power tools
• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Checking completed work against required quality standards
• Training and supporting new and existing team members
• Identifying and reporting production or quality issues
• Keeping the department organised, safe and running efficiently
• Working closely with other production departments to meet deadlines

What were looking for:

• Previous assembly experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Previous Team Leader experience
• Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings
• Confident using hand and power tools
• Good attention to detail and quality
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A practical, hands-on approach to leadership
• Reliable and comfortable working within a busy production environment

Experience assembling sheet metal, fabricated components or engineering products would be particularly advantageous.
