As one of the world’s largest construction and development companies, we work together with customers, communities and partners to shape a better society.You will be working in the HS2 Main Works, the SCS Joint Venture with Costain and Strabag, our HS2 Main Works South team is delivering one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects – 26 miles of tunnels from London Euston to West Ruislip, along with viaducts, bridges and embankments that will connect communities for generations.We are currently looking for an Engineer (MEP) who will:As the Engineer (MEP), you will:Proactively engage on Health, Safety, and Environmental matters. Ensuring that the works are planned and executed in accordance with SCS and Statutory requirementsEnsure that all works under your control have identified and managed quality risks, including the completion and recording of installation and commissioning inspectionsReviewing permanent works design and ensuring appropriate input from the construction team during the designDevelop the subcontract design and construction methodology. Prepare for the delivery of the works, including resources, procurement, consents, and prestart documentationUnderstand the form of Contract and develop detailed site specific programmes, assess actual programme and productivity achieved and review weekly, taking action where appropriate, and reporting any changes to the Project Manager and QS departmentWe are looking for:Experience of the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health systems including design, construction, testing, commissioning, and handoverA professional qualification or degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related subjectKnowledge of construction techniques, sequencing, and best practiceKnowledge and understanding of working to and implementing NEC construction contractsCapable of working independently and proactively to progress works but also skilled at working collaboratively with other integrated team members and external stakeholders for the overall benefit of the projectComputer competence (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Document Control Systems, Auto CAD)Excellent communication skills and ability to adjust communication style to suite receiverRelevant CSCS CardSMSTS/SSSTSWhat we offer:24/7 digital GP service for you and your family Financial wellbeing and employee assistance Professional development Enhanced family benefits (including maternity, paternity, dependants and parental bereavement leave) Inclusion and Diversity We thrive through embracing differences as we know that diversity opens a rich potential for new ways of thinking, helping us to build successful and high-performing teams.
