Employment: PermanentThe OpportunityWe are working with an established Tier 1 Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health contractor that is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its London team.The business delivers major M&E packages across high-profile residential and commercial developments and is continuing to strengthen its engineering and project delivery teams.This position would suit a Mechanical Engineer who has gained strong experience working for an M&E contractor and is looking for a long-term opportunity where they can take greater responsibility and continue progressing their career.The RoleYou will work as part of the project delivery team, taking responsibility for the mechanical elements of major building services projects from design coordination through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.Responsibilities will include:Managing and coordinating mechanical building services packagesReviewing drawings, specifications and technical informationWorking closely with design, commercial and project teamsCoordinating mechanical services with electrical, public health and other tradesManaging specialist subcontractors and suppliersMonitoring installation quality and ensuring works are delivered to specificationResolving technical and coordination issues on siteAttending project, design and coordination meetingsMonitoring programme and progress of mechanical worksSupporting procurement of mechanical equipment and packagesAssisting with testing, commissioning and project handoverMaintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and the wider project teamEnsuring works are delivered safely and to the required quality standardsAbout YouStrong experience working directly for an M&E / Building Services contractor is essential.We are particularly interested in speaking with Mechanical Engineers who have experience delivering sizeable mechanical packages within the London construction market.The successful candidate should demonstrate:Strong mechanical building services knowledgePrevious experience working for an M&E contractorExperience delivering mechanical packages on major construction projectsGood understanding of mechanical systems, installation and commissioningAbility to read and understand drawings, specifications and technical informationExperience coordinating with other building services and tradesStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively with subcontractors, consultants and clientsA proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of their workCareer stability is important and candidates should be able to demonstrate good longevity within their previous employers.Career DevelopmentThis is intended to be a long-term appointment rather than simply another project-based move.The company is continuing to grow and wants to bring people into the business who can develop alongside it.
