Social Work Choice UK Agency are recruiting for a local authority looking for a social worker interested in an exciting opportunity in a Child in Need Social Work Team, with at least a year’s post qualifying experience in assessment, child in need, child protection and court work.

Main Responsibilities

• Managing the specific set of tasks relating to statutory and non-statutory case responsibility
• Build a working relationship with children, family or carers to decide the best way to keep them safe
• Knowledge and understanding of child development milestones, and issues impacting children, young people and families and be able to apply this to your complex casework
• Awareness and curiosity of indications of abuse and neglect and how to lead the child safeguarding process
• Good understanding of the law and the family and youth justice system
• skilled at building effective relationships with children, young people and families to keep them safe
• Excellent communication skills with children, young people and families as well as carers and professionals
• Excellent skills when it comes to writing case notes, reports and assessments

Qualification & Experience

• Social Work England registration
• Post-qualified experience
• Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
• Understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices
