Brentwood Senior School is an academically selective HMC co-educational independent school with small class sizes and a happy, ambitious and supportive staff team. It is part of Brentwood School, a 3-18 HMC school of 1900 pupils, just 35 minutes from London Liverpool Street.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable Teacher of Food & Nutrition to join our thriving department on a 0.6 FTE part-time maternity cover contract (3 days/week, starting 22nd February 2027). As a confident practitioner, you will deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons to Year 8–11 pupils, with potential opportunities to teach IB Food Science & Technology in the Sixth Form for candidates with suitable experience. Joining a vibrant, inclusive community, you will benefit from exceptionally well-resourced facilities, including two dedicated multipurpose rooms with multiple student kitchen areas, comprehensive technician support, and fully integrated Google Workspace and Apple technology.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers as well as suitably qualified subject specialists who can demonstrate outstanding classroom practice and maintain excellent continuity of learning. Beyond the classroom, you will help run cooking classes through our timetabled Activities programme, offer support during lunchtime and after‑school sessions, and participate fully in the wider co‑curricular life of the School. If you are passionate about inspiring young people through Food Preparation & Nutrition and want to thrive in a warm, high‑performing environment, we would love to hear from you.
