We are recruiting to a number of key roles across our Mental Health Social Work and AMHP services. These roles sit at the heart of delivering statutory responsibilities, improving practice quality and shaping how services operate across the wider system.

We are recruiting to a key Social Worker Mental Health role within Adult Social Care, to work with adults of working age across Mental Health Social Work services and the AMHP Hub.

About the role

As a Social Worker Mental Health, you will:

• Provide a person centred, statutory social work service for the most vulnerable adults and their carers in accordance with local and national policies and procedures.
• Actively support and participate in the development and implementation of integrated, multi-disciplinary working.
• Take a key role working with partners to safeguard adults through the effective management of risk and the recording and sharing of information.
• Adopt a strengths-based approach to meet the individual needs of people with lived experience through effective care and support planning.
• Contribute to the effective development of the team and carry out activities under the direction of a Team Manager, Advanced Practitioner, or other professional staff.

What we’re looking for

We are seeking a credible and experienced social worker who:

• Has a recognised Social Work qualification; Degree, CQSW, CSS, Dip SW or equivalent and holds a current registration with Social Work England.
• Has a good understanding of how key legislation relates to the Mental Health Social Work role, particularly the Care Act (2014), Mental Health Act (1983, as amended) and Mental Capacity Act (2005).
• Understands the principles and values underlying the Care Act (2014), Mental Health Act (1983, as amended), Mental Capacity Act (2005) and other relevant legislation.
• Understands strengths based approaches and the independence (enablement) model of health and social care.
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of personalisation and a person-centred approach, including Making Safeguarding Personal. You must evidence that you have a clear understanding of the social work role in a multi-disciplinary setting.
• Is experienced in working with adults/older people, including prior experience working with individuals presenting with mental health conditions.
• Has a clear understanding of the social work role in a multi-disciplinary setting.
• Can evidence an innovative approach to the development of new methods of working to support people in the community and has knowledge of relevant Welfare Rights Legislation.
• You must clearly evidence your ability to develop effective working relationships with adults and their carers’ and show evidence of good assessment practice.
