Location: Exeter/Hybrid (one day per week in office)

Salary: £36,000 basic + £22,000 OTE (£58,000 total package)

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of the sales process, identifying new opportunities, engaging prospective customers and developing relationships that generate long-term value.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Proactively identifying and approaching prospective customers to generate new business opportunities.
• Following up on inbound enquiries and managing prospects through a consultative sales process.
• Delivering engaging software demonstrations, showing customers how the solutions can improve their business operations.
• Building relationships with key decision-makers, understanding their challenges and presenting relevant solutions.
• Developing existing customer accounts, identifying opportunities to introduce additional products and services.
• Managing your sales pipeline, negotiating agreements and working towards revenue targets.
• Keeping up to date with industry developments and customer needs to identify new commercial opportunities.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who enjoys the challenge of sales, is confident starting conversations and understands how to turn relationships into commercial results.

You’ll ideally bring:

• At least two years' successful experience in business development or a similar target-driven sales role.
• A proven track record of generating new business, managing a pipeline and delivering revenue growth.
• A consultative approach, with the ability to understand customer needs and communicate value.
• Confidence presenting to and influencing business owners and senior decision-makers.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage your own workload and targets.
• Experience in software, SaaS or financial services sales would be advantageous, although we're open to other industries.
• Knowledge of the accountancy sector would be beneficial but isn't essential.

You don't need to have sold software before. What's more important is your ability to build trust, understand a customer's business and demonstrate how a product or service can make a difference.
