The role is part of Virgin Active's Family Activities Team and is offered on a zero-hour basis. It involves inspiring swimmers of all ages and abilities through engaging, high-quality lessons that build confidence, skills and a lifelong love of the water. The instructor will create a safe, supportive and enjoyable learning environment while delivering exceptional member experiences and contributing to the success of the swim programme.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging, high-quality swimming lessons that inspire swimmers of all ages and abilities and build confidence, skills and a lifelong love of the water.
Promote and deliver all poolside activities and scheduled swimming lessons to the highest standard, creating an exceptional experience for members.
Develop creative and innovative classes following the Swim England (ASA) national plan for Teaching Swimming.
Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for members within the pool and surrounding areas.
Deliver great customer service by providing personal attention and care to all members.
Accurately complete records to track attendance and improvements in fitness, ensuring individual, team and department targets are consistently met.
Work closely with Swim management to meet and exceed set targets and objectives and help achieve commercial success within the department and wider Club team.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Swim England/ASA Level 2 in Teaching Swimming or STA Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Teaching.
Flexible, friendly and approachable manner, with readiness for an exciting challenge.
Ability to connect with members and get on well with people from all walks of life.
Exceptional communication skills.
Experience in a customer-facing environment, able to respond appropriately and professionally to everyone in all manners, including face to face, over the phone and via email correspondence.
