Field Service Technician | Transport Infrastructure | London
Do you want a hands‑on engineering role where your work keeps a major transport network running, and where people stay because the job is well run? This is a field‑based role supporting critical transport infrastructure across London and the surrounding areas. You will work on electromechanical systems in a regulated rail environment with strong planning and structure behind your work.
What's in it for you?
Long-term stability in essential infrastructure, with consistent work in a sector that does not slow down.
A team with real longevity, where many vacancies come from retirement and internal promotion rather than turnover.
Home‑start working with a fully equipped vehicle, so less commuting and more control over your time.
A clear path into senior technician or team leader roles.
A company vehicle, tools, PPE, fuel and insurance provided, plus private healthcare and a pension.
Responsibilities:
Carry out fault finding, repair and preventative maintenance on transport and gate systems.
Attend planned and reactive jobs across the London network using a tablet‑based job system.
Work independently while following strict safety and compliance procedures.
Complete job reports accurately and manage allocated stock and equipment.
Take part in team briefings and occasional depot visits.
Requirements:
1+ years of experience in electrical and/or mechanical based roles.
Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points, allowing you to operate a company vehicle safely.
Willingness to work in a regulated rail environment, including drug and alcohol testing requirements.
