Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Galliford Try is recruiting an assistant quantity surveyor in London. The advert asks for someone based in or near the capital who is prepared to travel between sites and projects across the region, and it is classed as an experienced hire rather than a graduate intake. The work is sub-contract led.

The appointee manages and procures trade sub-contract packages, administers and advises on both main contract and sub-contract conditions, and handles sub-contract payments, variations and final accounts. Support to the main contract valuation and the monthly cost report is also part of the post, together with the analysis of tender allowances. Measurement runs through the role.

The posting asks for the measurement and valuation of works, taken both on site and from drawings, for valuations, variations and final accounts, with valuation dates agreed and interim applications prepared and submitted to those dates.

Cost value reconciliation, the preparation of cost to complete, cash management, cash flow and turnover forecasting and standard reporting complete the list, with internal valuations and sub-contract liability reports produced to the accounting period deadlines. The employer asks for main contractor experience in construction, specifically on design and build, and a sound working knowledge of the JCT form.

The advert cites an order book above four point three billion pounds. No salary and no closing date are published.
