Project Quantity Surveyor

VolkerHighways is recruiting a Project Quantity Surveyor for its ICP and EV team in Hoddesdon. The permanent role combines site commercial advice with cost reporting, subcontract management and recovery of payments. The surveyor will advise project colleagues on financial and contractual questions and identify cost risks.

Responsibilities include:

• analysing tenders
• issuing instructions
• checking supporting documents for subcontractor payments

The post also involves measuring completed work, recording variations and agreeing income.

Monthly reporting covers:

• forecasts
• accruals
• recovery

Further tasks include:

• managing aged debt
• authorising invoices
• maintaining records of client performance measures

Applicants should have quantity-surveying experience on highways or civil-engineering projects and practical experience administering NEC or JCT contracts. The advert seeks negotiation skills, accurate forecasting and confidence when dealing with clients. Experience of large schemes involving change management, electric-vehicle work or street lighting is preferred but is not essential.

Microsoft Office proficiency and the ability to meet deadlines are also requested. The employer states that drug and alcohol screening is mandatory for staff.
