Are you a current or former Police Officer looking for a new challenge, or considering a return to policing?
British Transport Police (BTP) is recruiting PIP 2 qualified Detective Constables to join our Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in London.
As a Detective Constable with BTP, you will investigate serious and complex crimes across Britain's railway network, protecting passengers, supporting victims, pursuing offenders and helping to keep the country moving safely.
BTP polices and protects over 10,000 miles of track and 3,000 railway stations every day. Our network sits at the heart of Britain's communities, commerce and industry, creating unique investigative opportunities and challenges that you will not find in any other police force.
Our CID officers conduct proactive and reactive investigations into crimes committed across the rail network, ensuring that all available evidence is secured and that investigations are completed to the highest professional standards. Officers act as a point of contact for victims and witnesses, providing support, reassurance and updates throughout the investigative process.
At BTP, we champion modern, people-focused policing. From safeguarding passengers and supporting vulnerable individuals to preventing crime and bringing offenders to justice, no two days are the same.

We recognise the valuable skills and experience that transferees and re-joiners bring to British Transport Police.
