We are currently seeking experienced Dermatology Surgical Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support weekend insourcing lists, helping deliver NHS waiting list initiatives across a range of dermatology surgical services, including Minor Operations and Complex Minor Operations.
This is an excellent opportunity to join experienced teams delivering high-quality patient care within busy surgical settings, supporting clinicians and patients throughout their treatment journey.
Requirements
To be considered, you must:
Have recent, hands-on experience supporting dermatology surgical lists
Have been actively undertaking this work for at least 6 months within the past 12 months
You will also have:
Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within an NHS dermatology surgical setting
Experience assisting with minor surgical procedures
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Organisational skills and attention to detail
A patient-focused approach with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities
Preparing treatment rooms and surgical equipment
Assisting clinicians during Minor Operations and Complex Minor Operations
Preparing patients for procedures and providing reassurance throughout their treatment
Chaperoning patients during consultations and surgical procedures
Recording patient observations where required
Maintaining aseptic techniques and infection prevention standards
Assisting with specimen handling and documentation
Supporting patient flow throughout surgical lists
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and records
Ensuring clinics run safely, efficiently, and in line with local policies and procedures
Maintaining high standards of patient care, dignity, and confidentiality
