What You’ll Do

• Completing pre-procedure assessments and preparing patients for procedures
• Establishing IV access and administering medications as ordered
• Providing patient and family education
• Supporting physicians and the procedural team during endoscopic procedures
• Monitoring patients receiving sedation and/or anesthesia
• Recognizing and responding quickly to changes in patient condition
• Providing post-procedure recovery care and determining readiness for discharge
• Educating patients and caregivers on discharge and follow-up instructions
• Flexing between pre-op, procedure, and recovery based on patient and department needs

• Colonoscopy
• Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
• Bronchoscopy
• Esophageal Manometry
• Anorectal Manometry
• Other Diagnostic & Therapeutic Endoscopic Procedures

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current South Carolina or Compact State RN license
• Current BLS
• Current ACLS
• Previous Endoscopy or acute-care nursing experience preferred

Call Requirements

This position participates in the Endoscopy Department's call rotation, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage as assigned. Team members must be able to respond within the department's required call-back timeframe.
