What You’ll Do

Completing pre-procedure assessments and preparing patients for procedures
Establishing IV access and administering medications as ordered
Providing patient and family education
Supporting physicians and the procedural team during endoscopic procedures
Monitoring patients receiving sedation and/or anesthesia
Recognizing and responding quickly to changes in patient condition
Providing post-procedure recovery care and determining readiness for discharge
Educating patients and caregivers on discharge and follow-up instructions
Flexing between pre-op, procedure, and recovery based on patient and department needs

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Current South Carolina or Compact State RN license
Current BLS
Current ACLS
Previous Endoscopy or acute-care nursing experience preferred

Call Requirements

This position participates in the Endoscopy Department's call rotation, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage as assigned. Team members must be able to respond within the department's required call-back timeframe.
