Rossendale School are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lead Humanities Teacher to join our team, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism and other associated needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in leading the provision of exceptional service to support the wellbeing, development and success of young people - enabling high-quality learning outcomes; encouraging colleague engagement and collaboration to foster a positive and supportive environment; and ensuring effective day-to-day leadership within areas of responsibility - championing the school's values, ethos, policies and procedures.
Please note, interviews are scheduled to take place on Thursday 22nd October 2026.
Rossendale is a day school catering for the needs of pupils who are autistic and academically able. All pupils have a draft or final Education, Health and Care Plan. The School provides education for young people aged from 7 – 18 years of age. Key stages 3 and 4 are based on the main school site, whilst Key stage 2 and 5 are based at our Campus which is based in the local community. At Key stage 4 and 5 we offer a wide range of GCSE subjects, BTEC Awards, Functional Skills, ASDAN and Entry Level qualifications and A level courses at the sixth form provision. Given the disrupted nature of our pupils’ education, prior to their admission to Rossendale, we have had some outstanding examination results. The school admits both boys and girls.
As part of Aspris Children’s Services, we are immensely proud of the career pathway and training we can offer you. We ask that you can demonstrate the values needed for a role, transferable skills and life experience and in return we will give you all the training and support you need to progress.
If you want to progress your career in Education, Aspris Children’s Services will help you get there.
Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years; for all our services we will request references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our Schools.
