Connect, operating under the Screwfix banner and owned by the Kingfisher Group, is a leading name in the distribution of high-quality appliance spare parts and accessories. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional products and services to our diverse clientele across various sectors.

We have over 50 years’ experience in the appliance spare parts industry. Our most recent opportunity has been becoming part of Screwfix, which has allowed us to continue to expand with the extensive support, knowledge and resources that the Kingfisher group has to offer.

About the role and team:

We’re looking for a confident, driven and commercially minded sales professional to join our regional sales team as a Business Development Manager.

As a key representative of our brand, you’ll build strong relationships with both new and existing customers, delivering excellent service while identifying opportunities to grow sales and develop accounts.

This is a field-based role, so you’ll enjoy being out on the road, meeting customers face-to-face and building lasting relationships. You can expect to spend around three to four days a week travelling across the North of the UK.

Ideally, you’ll be based between Newcastle and Edinburgh, giving you easy access to your territory.

While this is primarily a regional role, there will also be occasional travel to our Birmingham Head office and Distribution Centre for meetings, training and wider team activities.

What you’ll be doing:

Take ownership of your territory, growing existing accounts while actively seeking out new business opportunities.
Turn prospects into loyal customers through proactive, face-to-face selling, cold calling, networking and engaging sales presentations.
Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline, keeping opportunities moving and maintaining momentum towards your targets.
Bring opportunities to life by creating compelling proposals, quotations and presentations tailored to each customer.
Spot new areas for growth and expand our presence across service, retail, web and emerging sectors.
Build strong, long-term customer relationships, becoming a trusted point of contact and identifying opportunities to increase sales along the way.

What we’re looking for

Proven experience in B2B product sales, with the confidence to open doors and win new business.
A natural relationship builder who enjoys getting to know customers and understanding what makes their business tick.
Commercially driven, resilient and motivated by achieving results.
Comfortable working independently in the field, while also being a collaborative member of the wider sales team.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities and opportunities can change quickly.
