We have vacancies to join our friendly team of Rotational Pharmacists at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where you will gain experience in all the main clinical and therapeutic areas.
With a strong focus on ward based patient centred clinical care, you will be working within and helped by a team of pharmacists and medicine management technicians who are well integrated at ward level. In our aseptic suite you will be involved in the clinical aspects and final release of parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals. Candidates will be encouraged and funded to undertake the postgraduate diploma.
This post introduces the STEP Up programme, an in-house structured progression of skills, knowledge and pay advancement from band 6 to band 7 after phase 3 of STEP Up programme linked to the Newly Qualified Pharmacist Pathway and completion of postgraduate modules.
There will be a requirement to participate in extended hours working including weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
This is an exciting time that will lead to much improvement for our patient’s care – if you want to make a difference; NOW is the time to join SaTH Pharmacy.
What can SaTH Pharmacy offer you?
Our vision is simple
To provide excellent care to our communities we serve.
We’re looking for people who want to help us achieve this vision, who will help us make a difference.
Our Poppy’s Promise Commitment
We believe that compassionate care sits at the heart of everything we do. Every member of our team — clinical or non‑clinical — plays a vital role in ensuring that patients, families, and colleagues are treated with dignity, empathy, and respect at all times.
We expect all staff to demonstrate compassion not only through their words, but through their actions: by listening attentively, communicating clearly and kindly, and recognising individual needs, feelings, and circumstances of those in our care.
Effective communication is central to safe and high-quality healthcare. We value colleagues who take the time to understand others, explain information in a meaningful way, and respond to concerns with patience and understanding.
By joining our team, you are committing to uphold these values — ensuring that every patient feels heard, respected, and valued, and that compassion is embedded in every interaction, every day.
Our Hospitals Transformation Programme (HTP) is currently underway and is the single biggest investment in local acute hospitals in a generation. This will be done in phases and will be completed by 2027 to enable the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) site to specialise in planned care and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site (RSH) to specialise in emergency care. The main work involves the construction of a new four storey building and the remodelling of our existing Emergency Department at RSH.
