Social Worker – Adolescent Safeguarding Team
Dudley
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a specialist Adolescent Safeguarding Service in Dudley.
As a Social Worker in the Young Croydon Service, you will hold a well-managed caseload of young people aged 11–18 where risk is located predominantly outside of the home. You will work with a passionate and dedicated team of social workers and adolescent workers to help reduce risk in the community and support young people to achieve their potential and move away from those who seek to exploit them.
This investment in you means you will have the opportunity to grow your skills and develop your career, as well as make your mark by helping to shape the way Croydon supports children and families. Key responsibilities include:
Croydon Council is looking for a qualified and motivated social worker who is committed to making a real difference for young people in the community. The right candidate will bring both professional competence and genuine empathy to this important role.
Croydon Council is an inclusive employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. As users of the Disability Confident scheme, they guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role. The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check (both barred lists). Croydon Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Home to 94,000 children, Croydon is a truly unique place to practice social work. We are a borough with big ambition, grit, and determination. Children's social care was judged 'good' in our last Ofsted inspection.
Our systemic practice framework places emphasis on relationships as key to supporting change for families. We make sense of the world through relationships, focusing on the whole family system and thinking about our own part in that too - what we bring, our own family stories and beliefs, how we use ourselves in the work that we do. Our practice model is all about collaboration - with our families, networks and partners; being open to challenge and ensuring our practitioners are highly trained in a variety of intervention approaches. Our established clinical service will support you to grow your own systemic practice within the service, providing accredited training, co-working and direct work with families.
