Optical Assistant

Salary: Up to £26,500 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full time | 40 hours per week
Days: 5 days a week - every weekend (either Saturday or Sunday, not both)

Location: Blackburn area

We're recruiting for an experienced Optical Assistant to join a brand-new practice within the Blackburn area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a newly established team from the beginning, working alongside experienced optical professionals in a modern practice offering both optical and hearing services.

Important Requirement:

You must have a minimum of 12 months' experience working within optics. Applications without this will not be considered.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Dispensing and providing advice on lenses and products
• Pre-screening customers ahead of their eye examination
• Helping customers choose suitable frames
• Adjustments, collections and aftercare
• Working confidently in a busy, customer-focused optical environment
• Building rapport and delivering a friendly, personal service

What We're Looking For:

• Has previous experience working within an optical practice
• Is confident dealing with patients and providing excellent customer service
• Enjoys working as part of a friendly and supportive team
• Is comfortable working within a busy, fast-paced environment
• Has a good understanding of optical terminology and the patient journey
• Is keen to continue learning and developing professionally
• Experience within audiology would also be useful, although it isn't essential.
