Salary: £33,000–£34,000
Hours: 8:00am–5:00pm
Working Pattern: Full-time, office-based

Conquip Engineering Group is seeking a highly organised, proactive and experienced Business Support Administrator to join our dynamic team in Alton. This varied and responsible role offers an excellent opportunity to provide essential administrative and operational support across the wider business.

About the Role

In this pivotal position, you will work closely with multiple departments to ensure day-to-day activities are efficiently coordinated, accurately documented and completed promptly. This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership of their workload, confidently manages competing priorities, and fosters effective working relationships across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive day-to-day administrative support across the business
• Act as the central point of contact for general office and administrative enquiries
• Coordinate visitors, meetings, couriers, deliveries and general office requirements
• Support facilities management, office supplies and contractor coordination
• Review and process employee expenses, following up on any incomplete or incorrect submissions
• Assist with the completion and administration of customer PQQs, supplier on-boarding and compliance portals
• Gather and coordinate supporting information from departments including HR, HSE, Finance and Supply Chain
• Maintain accurate records, trackers, portal data, renewal dates and related documentation
• Monitor outstanding actions and pro-actively follow up with internal stakeholders to obtain required information
• Support company events, meetings, travel arrangements and other practical logistics
• Provide flexible administrative support to other departments during periods of increased workload, absence or annual leave
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline administrative processes where appropriate

Skills & Experience

We are seeking candidates with proven experience in an administration, business support, office administration or coordination role .

You should be able to demonstrate the following:

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Confidence working independently and taking ownership of tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A professional and approachable manner when liaising with colleagues, customers and visitors
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
• Confidence using online systems, portals and databases
• Ability to gather, organise and manage information from diverse sources
• A proactive approach to following up outstanding actions and meeting deadlines
• Discretion in handling confidential and commercially sensitive information
• A resourceful and flexible attitude, with a willingness to support the wider business as required

*A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for occasional business-related errands and collections.*
