As a Dispensing Optician, you'll be at the heart of what we do - the friendly, knowledgeable face our patients see from the moment they walk in. This is a hands‑on, people‑first role, working closely with the team to ensure every patient leaves feeling looked after, informed, and happy with their experience.

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming patients in person and on the phone, delivering a warm, professional experience from start to finish. Whether a patient is calling to book an appointment, ask a question or collecting their frames, you’ll be there to schedule them, help them and support the team with the day to day operations
Assisting patients with frame selection, dispensing, styling and fitting, and general optical queries
Supporting the smooth running of the dispensing process, including taking measurements and processing orders
Managing patient bookings and keeping the appointment schedule running efficiently
Maintaining accurate records and adhering to practice standards and procedures
Supporting stock management, displays, and merchandising to keep the practice looking its best
Working alongside the store manager and wider team to contribute to a positive, high‑performing environment

About You

Experience in optical retail is essential (an FBDO qualification or equivalent is desirable)
You’re a people person who genuinely enjoys delivering great customer service
Confident, calm and professional, even on the busiest of days
Organised and attentive to detail, with a good understanding of the dispensing process
A positive, can‑do attitude and a genuine passion for eyewear and the community you serve
Any experience with practice management software is a bonus, but not essential

What We Offer

Competitive salary between £35,000 and £40,000, depending on experience
The opportunity to grow with an established, well‑loved independent practice
