Junior Transport Planner Apprentice

Are you organised, curious, and looking to build a career in transport and logistics? 2XL UK is looking for a Junior Transport Planner Apprentice to join their growing team and start building a long-term career within the logistics industry.

2XL UK is part of the wider ECS group, a supply chain logistics company, and their UK operation plays an important role in bringing products into the country that you see every day on supermarket shelves. It can be a busy environment, but there’s a real sense of achievement in knowing that the products you see in stores are there because of the work you and the wider team have helped make happen.

Key Responsibilities

Contacting external partners to obtain required information and uploading data into their systems.
Supporting the management and coordination of equipment within their fleet.
Monitoring units and alerting partners and colleagues when they haven't left the port in time to meet delivery requirements.
Responding to enquiries received through their general mailbox.
Supporting the Head Planner with transport planning activities.
Developing your understanding of transport, logistics and the wider business.

Skills & Knowledge

Good time-management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
Common sense and a practical approach to solving problems.
Good communication skills, particularly when dealing with colleagues and external partners.
A willingness and desire to expand your knowledge.
An interest in transport, logistics and how things move around the UK.
An ability to work as part of a team while also taking responsibility for your own tasks.
An understanding of UK geography would be useful, but don't worry if you don't know every town and city; it's something you'll develop through the role.
