Internal Sales Manager – Electrical Wholesale

A well-established, independent electrical wholesaler is looking for a proactive Internal Sales Manager to join their successful team in Birmingham. Role Responsibilities

As an Internal Sales Manager, you’ll take responsibility for leading and developing the internal sales team, driving sales and profitability while making sure customers receive an excellent level of service. You will be:

• Leading, motivating and developing the internal sales team
• Driving sales, gross profit and margin
• Developing existing customer accounts (predominantly contractors) and identifying new opportunities
• Ensuring quotes are followed up and converted into orders
• Working closely with the external sales team to grow customer accounts
• Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers
• Handling and resolving customer issues
• Monitoring team performance against targets and KPIs
• Coaching the team to improve sales skills, product knowledge and customer service
• Making sure enquiries, quotations and orders are dealt with quickly and accurately
• Working closely with purchasing, warehouse and operations to deliver a reliable service

Requirements

To be successful in this Internal Sales Manager, you should have previous electrical wholesale experience and a good understanding of the products, customers and commercial environment. You should be:

• Commercially minded with a strong understanding of sales, margin and profitability
• A proactive sales professional who actively looks for opportunities to grow accounts
• Well connected within the electrical contracting market
• An experienced team leader who can motivate and develop others
• Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
• Organised, confident and able to lead by example
• Comfortable working towards targets and taking ownership of results
