Support Worker - Learning Disabilities
Colwyn Bay, Clwyd
The support varies from enabling access into the community, promoting the individuals to make their own choices and ensuring medication, finances…
Are you a positive, caring and patient person looking for a role where you can make a real difference and help people achieve their desired goals? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We are looking for a Support Worker to provide essential overnight support as waking night staff for a lady living in Flint. You will play a key role in ensuring her safety, comfort, and well‑being throughout the night, while always promoting independence and dignity. You will work collaboratively with day staff to ensure continuity of care as she enjoys a variety of activities each week including pedal power, bowling, meeting friends in the pub, lunch out and coffee and cake at local cafes.
Any experience with learning disabilities would be great, but is not essential as full induction, training and ongoing support will be provided. However this role does require a female member of staff who is a driver.
We are a fantastic organisation to work for: a local charity with a focus on person‑centred support. We are a Platinum Investor in People and received a rating of excellent in all three categories in our last CIW inspection.
If you would like an informal chat about the role, please give the Service Manager Ruth a call on .
There is also more information available on our website including a full job description and person specification.
Please note you will work and attend meetings in Flintshire, with only very occasional travel to the office in St Asaph for training.
We are passionate about learning and development so we will support you to achieve the qualifications above and the higher pay rates that go with them.
