Key Responsibilities

As a Complex Carer with Coyle Homecare, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support to a 10-year-old girl throughout her school day. You will be expected to fulfil the following responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality, personalised complex care and support throughout the school day.
• Provide safe and competent tracheostomy care .
• Monitor the child's health and respond appropriately to any changes in her condition.
• Administer medication and first aid in accordance with care plans and relevant policies.
• Respond calmly and confidently to medical emergencies.
• Support the child to access classroom activities and participate in school life.
• Provide emotional reassurance and encouragement.
• Promote independence and support age-appropriate activities wherever possible.
• Work closely with teachers, school staff, parents/carers, and healthcare professionals.
• Follow individual healthcare plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, and care protocols.
• Maintain accurate and confidential care and medical records.
• Communicate effectively with everyone involved in the child's care.

Key Job Requirements

To be considered for the role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Tracheostomy training and practical experience are essential. Please only apply if you have relevant tracheostomy experience.
• Previous experience providing complex care to children or young people.
• Previous paediatric or school-based care experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and confidently respond to changes in a child's condition.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure, particularly during medical emergencies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A caring, patient, compassionate, and child‑focused approach.
• Ability to maintain accurate and confidential medical documentation.
• Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work.
• Care experience of at least 1 year is preferred.
